Breakdown

This week I worked with Hugo and Ethan, they made the beat and then sent it to me for lyrics and vocals. The production on this track is very good and given the opportunity I would have written a different song. However my mood definitely impacts my music and this song turned into more of a cry for help rather than a rap track as I think the boys envisioned. It is very raw and the lyrics contain some disturbing and sensitive content. To be honest I’m not sure if this is singing or more spoken word poetry, I wrote and recorded it in the midst of a breakdown so ended up calling it that. I do appreciate how truthful and raw it is, as I like music where artists actually reveal something about themselves but I definitely could have done better. I do think given the right vocal techniques and performance this could be a good song of a woman descending into madness, I imagined it as something like 7 years by skydxddy.
