Please Kill Me

For this week I was paired with Ethan, we decided to commit to using what we had learned in class about melody and do a slower song. Ethan produced the track and I wrote the lyrics and sang. This song was not my favourite to be completely honest, not being in my usual style I was a little uncomfortable; I worked through this and wrote some lyrics which I think are okay, they are very revealing and talk about abuse and mental health. I would have liked to have the track be longer so that I could write a full song with a verse chorus structure but as a demo this works. As an alto singer I used my voice to the best of my ability to build a melody which fit with the very light airy sound of the track. Due to the serious themes featured in the lyrics I had to make my voice hold weight and convey the hurt. I feel I could have done this better but this song was a good opportunity for me to get out of my comfort zone and learn how to use melody and my voice better in music. I also think the lyrics could be better but there are certain lines I definitely like and will use in the future.
